CDS prides itself on being able to design and manufacture mechanical motion control products utilizing cam mechanisms. Our engineers specialize in the design and manufacture of Cam Technology for high speed and accurate performance.
We offer the widest range of "standard" cam motions and indexing drives which are either unavailable from other suppliers or are higher priced as "special" orders. We also provide custom cam designs and motion analysis for our customers, where we can assist as an extension of their own engineering staff when needed and save customers many hours of engineering man hours.

CDS also offers value added engineering support by providing customers with mechanically synchronized machine chassis and machine sub-systems. CDS can optimize the motion and timing diagrams for the basic machine motions and manufacture a fully timed machine chassis with all motion components (rotary indexers, oscillating drives, line shafts and pick and place part handlers) already installed, mechanically synchronized and timed and mounted to a rigid machine base. In recent years, CDS has made substantial investments in manufacturing technology. In order to support our customers with shorter delivery times, unmatched quality, enhanced engineering solutions and manufacturing flexibility, CDS has implemented advanced production systems using sophisticated FMS cells (Flexible Manufacturing Systems) capable of guaranteeing high standards of quality while working in continuous 24 hour "lights out" cycles without operator assistance. These FMS cells employ Double-spindle lathe-millers with automatic work piece loading/unloading via automated pallet rack systems and robotic load cells, electro discharge machining (EDM) cells and dedicated 5 axis CNC machines for induction hardening treatment of cam profiles. These manufacturing cells guarantee total process control and unmatched quality results. |
